Emily Gordon’s History of Golf Abu Dhabi

Local Amelia Island artist Emily Gordon lived in Abu Dhabi for 38 years prior to moving to Fernandina Beach, Florida.  Loving the History of Golf in Abu Dhabi, she created a series of artwork depicting this event.  One of Emily’s favorite is the Al Ghazai Golf club, considered to be the first sand golf course in Abu Dhabi.  Emily Gordon is also a golfer and enjoyed the challenge of the course since its opening in 1997. Under The History of Golf Abu Dhabi collection, you can see where Emily depicts the unique features of several of the courses.  Courses with immaculately maintained greens and fairways, gorgeous desert landscapes.  And features like the ever so popular brunching, unlike any other in the world.

About Emily’s Art: The History of Abu Dhabi Golf

Emily moved to Amelia Island, Florida after almost 4 decades living in UAE.  Also, known as Fernandina Beach, the sandy shores inspired Emily to open the eyes of the collector to experience some of the best golf courses in the world through her artwork. Through Emily’s Golf series, you will see brown desert sand replacing greens.  Since they did not have grass to create play, oil workers in the 70’s and 80’s created their own version of golf using plastic mats of grass as tee boxes.  Emily tells stories through her pieces that are only hers to tell. Again, the vibrant colors of these pieces show the unhindered views in only what can be an artist perspective.  Emily is known throughout UAE for her color choices and variety of scenes.
